Overview

The School of Languages & English at RMIT Vietnam offers a variety of customised study tours for students from overseas. These tours are supervised and can include a range of experiences, for example English for University or English Communication courses, excursions, cultural activities, and industry visits. Accommodation, catering, interpreters, and pastoral support can all be arranged through RMIT Vietnam.

Example Two-Week Program Summary

  • English communication & skills (20 hours)

  • Guided project-based learning (16 hours)

  • Industry specific activity (1 or 2 sessions)

  • Cross-cultural exchange activities (2 afternoons)

  • Cultural excursions (1 afternoon and 1 full day)

Tailored English Programs

Our two to four week programs include an English learning component tailored to suit the group’s needs and interests. Academic English for University, English Communication skills, and English for Special Purposes (e.g. for Engineering, for Business or for Information Technology) are all available for inclusion in your bespoke program, which we can design with you.

Our Teachers

Every English language educator has English as a first language, and the following qualifications and experience:

  • An internationally recognised Bachelor degree in Teaching English as a Second Language qualification An internationally recognised postgraduate.

  • Experience in teaching English at university level.

  • Experience in an environment focused on engagement and motivational practices.

In addition, English teachers at RMIT Vietnam are lifelong learners who update their teaching skills regularly.

Learning & Teaching

RMIT Vietnam's English courses help learners to improve their English language knowledge and skills through project-based learning which focuses on the communicative goals of language learning.

We use interactive teaching methods to help students activate their English and really communicate. ​

All students receive regular feedback and are supervised throughout their studies.

Our vibrant community is made up of mainly Vietnamese students, while in Ho Chi Minh City we welcome a growing number of international students from countries including Korea, France, Sri Lanka, Germany, Denmark and Japan. Study tour students in both locations will have the opportunity to develop international relationships through activities such as lunch socials, language exchanges and conversation clubs. They will also gain further insight into the country and culture of Vietnam through excursions and activities such as cooking competitions.

Industry Connections

Vietnam is a rapidly developing economy, with many domestic companies operating at an international level alongside the range of multinational operations investing in Vietnam. This means there is a wealth of opportunities for site visits. RMIT Vietnam’s strong industry connections also enable us to invite professionals from a wide range of specialisms for presentations and Q&A sessions.

City Cultural Tour

Discover the blend of modern and traditional that makes the city so appealing through a half-day overview of the historical and culturally important sites of Ho Chi Minh City.

Mekong Discovery Day

Weekend excursion to explore the natural canals and visit the islands, orchards and pagodas to experience traditional delta life.

Cooking Class

The opportunity to experience Vietnamese culture and history through a hands-on session exploring the flavours and textures of the cuisine.

Cu Chi Tunnels

A journey through the countryside to the historic stronghold of the Viet Cong, where tunnels served as housing, schools and medical centres as well as secret supply routes.

Mekong Discovery Weekend

Visit the floating markets, canals, gardens and pagodas to get a taste of life in the Mekong Delta. Includes an overnight stay with a local family.

Danang city
City Cultural Tour

Discover the blend of modern and traditional that makes the city so appealing through a half-day or full day tour of the natural and culturally important sites of Danang city.

My Son Sanctuary and Hoi An Ancient Town

1 day or weekend excursion to explore the imperial city of the Champa dynasty, My Son, and the marvellously preserved Hoi-An old town.

Hue city

Recognized as one of the World Heritage Sites by Unesco, Hue city, was the home of Vietnam’s last royal dynasty. Experience the Imperial Citadel, Thien Mu Pagoda and Perfume River.

Cooking class

Experience the special culture and history of the central region through a hands-on session exploring the more spicy and strongly-flavoured cuisine inspired by the imperial court of ancient Hue.

Marble Mountains

Experience the natural wonder, spectacular views and Buddhist sanctuaries of the Marble Mountains, a striking cluster of hills made from limestone and marble.
